AcesAPI vs reading ESPN's tennis feed
ESPN's tennis JSON has results but no surfaces, no ratings and no head to head. AcesAPI serves the same results checked, with those added.
ESPN's public tennis JSON is where AcesAPI's results come from, and it is free: a scoreboard call for a year returns every tournament and match ESPN lists. What it does not have is a surface for any tournament, a head to head, a record by surface, a rating, or a way to ask for one player's matches; it is undocumented, and a year of the ATP is a single response of about 20 MB.
AcesAPI loads that feed for both tours from 2007, splits the men's and women's draws ESPN files together, checks every match's sets against ESPN's own result line, marks the records ESPN left unfinished, adds surfaces from our own tournament reference and our Elo by surface, and serves it over REST and MCP with player, tournament and match lookups.

- You need scores during a match rather than the morning after.
- Your budget is zero and you are set up to parse, split and check the feed yourself.
Questions
Is AcesAPI's data the same as ESPN's?
The results are ESPN's. AcesAPI checks every match's sets against ESPN's result line, splits the tours, marks unfinished records as incomplete, and adds surfaces, ratings and the player and head-to-head lookups.
Does ESPN have aces or break points for tennis?
No. Its tennis feed has scores and no serve statistics, so neither source has them.
Does ESPN publish tennis odds?
Not in the tennis feed we read: every match's odds list was empty when checked, 2022 to 2026.
